The Onboarding & Probity Coordinator, reporting to the People Operations Manager, plays a key role in delivering a seamless and efficient onboarding and probity experience for all new starters, internal transfers, contractors, and team members at The Star Sydney. This role also provides valuable support to the broader People & Culture team.

The primary focus of the position is to manage all probity requirements, including completing necessary checks, verifying candidate information, and ensuring all documentation is accurately processed and recorded. You will ensure every applicant meets full compliance standards before commencing their role at The Star Sydney.

A few of your responsibilities

  • Conduct probity checks for new starters, internal transfers, contractors, and existing team members within required timeframes
  • Work with Licensing, Investigations, ER, and external partners (e.g., Equifax, Federal Police) to coordinate background checks
  • Identify, investigate, and escalate any irregularities or disclosable outcomes
  • Collect, review, and process onboarding documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Support the People & Culture team, including assisting Licensing and People Services, and participating in cross‑training
  • Manage team inboxes, including the Careers inbox, ensuring timely responses and effective triaging

What we will be looking for

  • Experience in an HR administrative role, ideally within a regulatory environment
  • Experience using an Applicant Tracking System (PageUp advantageous)
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry and record‑keeping skills
  • Experience in a centralised or shared services talent function (beneficial)
  • Background in high‑volume, fast‑paced recruitment or talent environments
