As the Events Logistics Manager, you will report to the Director of Events. Your primary responsibility will be to review and support the Event Planning and Operations team in all logistical matters. You will work closely with them to identify and mitigate any risks associated with event activation. Additionally, you will oversee the logistics team in all event spaces, ensuring that all back-house areas are well-maintained, from equipment management to organisation and setups/takedowns of events while within budget.

In this role, you will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including the Work Health & Safety external engineers, our internal hotel team and property operations. You will also act as our liaison with our clients for all logistics matters and ensure that risks are reviewed and addressed. Moreover, you will support our team in developing logistics plans for events that comply with legislation & WH&S regulations and deliver the outcomes to our clients under budget.

A few of your responsibilities

• Identify and mitigate any risks associated with event activation within the Event Spaces.
• Give Leadership to the Logistics team to ensure all room sets and breakdowns are completed efficiently and on time.
• Manage all inbound and outbound freight and deliveries within the Event Spaces
• Oversee our state-of-the-art Event Loading dock with a new software system called Mobile Dock.
• Work with the Event Planning team to review safe work method statements from suppliers.
• Liaise with the Event Centre Audio Visual Team on technical requirements such as staging and other AV activations.
• Ensure personal safety and the safety of other team members, contractors, labour hires, and guests, and comply with relevant legislation.

What we will be looking for

• Previous experience with large-scale events
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Experience in working closely with various stakeholders.
• Current Forklift License desirable.
• White Card desirable.
• Certificate IV in workplace training and assessment is highly regarded as desirable.
• Accreditation of Responsible Service of Alcohol
